^^ good idea! I think if people can manage not to fall into any campfires at the past few events, there shouldn't be much of a problem with a bigger one.

But if the stage is indoors like at ED2008, how would they have a campfire there?

Right outside. We can have a huge one, too. Since the doors open wide enough i see it as a nonissue.

I don't know why it has to be indoors simply because it's October. Everyone will be camping outdoors anyway. Unless it's a sound issue or something again. Outdoors is always better. I don't see the fire being near as a nonissue with the stage indoors, I see the cold as a nonissue with a central fire. Seriously, it works quite well...
But whatever. Like I said, just a suggestion...

I'd rather have an indoor stage with more people dancing. Don't say anything otherwise cause I saw what happened at sacred earth

Hey if the weather is going to be fantastic we have no problems doing an outdoor stage area. I just know October in the midwest, and i think it's best to do what makes the best sense, and in this case it's preparation. If it's going to rain, which is very likely, i think everyone will appreciate a dry place to be. We obviously cannot make the decision on stage placement until the time comes. The weather at sacred earth was very cold, and very wet the first night. I'd do just about anything to make sure everyone is a thousand times more comfortable this time around. :-)

Please go indoors. It's only like 40 feet to the door so those die hard, no shoe wearing, purists can just step back a bit if they really need to look straight up and see stars. Being out in the cold doesn't affect us sturdy types at all but for those that put on extra clothes when it's 60 degrees out, it's a pretty big deal.
As far as the camping outdoors argument, we're talking about the middle of the night, when its going to be quite cold. Everyone I know sleeps during the day...

You didn't use the central bonfire concept at Sacred Earth, so using that party as an antithesis to what I was proposing doesn't exactly work, but yeah, indoors is, of course, going to be warmer regardless. Plus the beer is right there...

There isn't a spot to make a central fire near the outdoor stage really. If we didn't have the domes there, maybe, but it would be getting close to the stage and there's a car/atv path that needs to be kept open. Either way, people could have warmed up by the 3 fires going on just beyond the stage, then gone back to dancing. 151 will put the fire in your belly so yeah....

Thats why you were exiled to California. Get with the program. Hehehehe.........now stop stereotyping! If you can get a fire going, any amount of cold would be a non-issue. E.g, no better person then Scatter to tell you about the Psykovsky party down here. Desert cold is brutal but we had that fire going and it was just perfect Get the fire going if you know that there is no rain and you are ... like I say ... sorted.
