so, as i mentioned, i hit my first all night psytrance party this last weekend ('embrace the darkness') and had an insanely good time.  it sounds cheezy, corny, and such - but i felt like id hit my first rave all over again.  the music was fresh but familiar (and definitely quality).  the decor and venue were top notch (second floor chillroom, whatwhat?!).  everyone i ran into - dancers, beverage sales, door people, djs, everyone - was awesome and open and there for a good time (not fashion, politics, coolness factor, etc).  i could go on, really, but i wont.

anyhow.  ive been attending raves and had my hand in about 20 or so, in terms of throwing them, as well as many many many small scale one offs weekly/monthly events.  i miss it.

now, im a single dad of two very young children, but!

i would love to offer any and all services i can.  setup, teardown, security, flyer design, performance (chillroom is about as far as id be allowed to go at a psy party Wink), whatever!  hardkornate can vouch for my oldschoolness.  my design should speak for itself - http://dckr.deviantart.com - and my music only speaks a small fraction of what i do - http://grindthieves.com/artbreaker

anyways.  ask questions, make suggestios, hit me up for help...  whatever!  i want to get involved in pushing what might be the last real living limb of an incredible scene too many people deserve bt dont know about.

email me if you like grindthieves@gmail.com

and thanks again.  sincerely!!

yeah, the IM flyer is me.  Smiley  i have a wealth of more varied art/design ive been meaning to get up on my deviant art site...  lifes been just hectic lately tho, so one day soon hopefully ill get around to.

i used to be hella involved in flyering, promoting, working parties and i miss it.  unfortunately, outside of the psytrance parties, it seems the true community and diy ethics are lost.  its rather gutwrenching, really.  but yeah, would definitely love to do whatever i can!!

Yeah, that's what I love about them too having gone to events for over 15 years myself so can understand Smiley

If you feel like a trip down to Arkansas we are doing a 5-day festival called AUM festival all psy/chill: www.aumfestival.net , can always use more volunteers! Personally, I can use people to teach things and do live art as I am coordinating workshops and dream of people doing art while lectures and stuff going on.

perhaps in the more distant future big multiple day outdoor events will be up my alley.  right now tho - due  to kids, work, recent divorce, new job, moving, etc - i should probably stick to doing what i can from a distance or working in/around minneapolis (where im located).  ive been wanting to go to burning man for as long as i can remember since i got into raves in 93, tho.  Smiley
